About Me
Nilsu Alanyalı was born in Izmir in 1993 and got her Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema and Digital Media in 2017. In the same year, she directed her first and only short film, CTRL+Z.
Afterward, she worked on many films and photography projects in Turkey and abroad.

Being a conceptual artist, Alanyalı focuses on the notion of time, inquiries of phenomenology as a field, and the reality/illusion of existence in her works.
Leaving subjectivity aside, she aims to question what a thing is in itself and also how unique perceptions are formed in the human mind through different cognitive processes. By creating multi-layered and fluid images through several tools from different disciplines,
she seeks to discover what is behind the representation of a singular moment.

Overall, her work is only about the archaic questions humankind has been asking for thousands of years, yet remain unanswered today.

Alanyalı moved to Neuchâtel, Switzerland in 2023, and she still pursues her artistic production there.
